International Federation of Infection Control (IFIC)

The International Federation of Infection Control (IFIC) is an umbrella organization of societies and associations of healthcare professionals in infection control and related fields worldwide. The goal of IFIC is to minimize the risk of infection within the healthcare setting world-wide through development of a network of infection control organizations for communication, consensus building, education and sharing expertise.

Since its inception in 1987, IFIC has grown and currently has 66 full members in 51 countries. Full membership is offered to societies, associations and organizations which provide or who are concerned with the provision of healthcare in premises anywhere in the world, provided they are governed by a constitution and have a local area of operation.

Each year IFIC holds a conference attended by its members from all over the world. IFICs Annual Conference brings professionals from all over together to network, discuss and learn more about infection prevention and control. CBIC is currently a member of IFIC and a representative typically attends their Annual Conference every year.
