1.    What made you want to pursue a career in infection prevention and control?

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and have held national clinical consulting positions and clinical operations positions.  I currently work for  Willis Towers Watson as a Director of Clinical Risk Services.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt a need to  further my education and knowledge in infection control.  This certification has provided me with a broader knowledge base on infection control and key program elements which in turn has allowed me to provide my clients with expert guidance on infection control and prevention processes.. The a-IPC certification allows me to provide guidance with confidence and better understanding of infectious outbreak mitigation.

2.    What does being a-IPCTM mean to you?

This certification provides me with a foundation and understanding of clinical care and the management of  infectious disease.  The certification provides credibility  to my advanced nursing knowledge and to the senior living industry as my work is in the senior living space.

3.    How has gaining the a-IPCTM credential impacted your career development?

I have worked in the senior living industry for 30 years and feel that learning and growth are essential to nursing practices.  This certification adds another layer of expertise and can be applied to many different aspects of care delivery.
