1. Tell us about your experience putting together your portfolio for the AL-CIP?
It was an insightful experience to look back and reflect on how I contributed to advancing IPC, what my specific role was, and which competencies I demonstrated to achieve progress. At the same time, it helped me identify areas for improvement and future focus. I realized that some processes required better documentation and that certain products would have benefited from stronger follow-up to maximize their impact. Overall, putting the portfolio together was a very valuable exercise to assess where you are in your IPC career and what your next steps should be.
2. Can you provide tips for writing a successful rationale?
My recommendation would be to keep the narrative simple and clear, while demonstrating why your contribution is important and how it improved IPC practices. Do not hesitate to clearly state your role in the process. Each application has its own rules, so carefully reading the guidance on how to write the application is also essential.
3. What advice would you give to someone considering the AL-CIP?
Understand that if you have been working in IPC for some time, are passionate about your work, and consistently strive to do your best, you have likely made meaningful contributions. Your experience can inspire others. The key is to clearly summarize what was done, how it was done, and what impact it had. By reflecting on this, you will already have a strong foundation for your AL-CIP application.
4. What does earning your AL-CIP mean to you?
First of all, it is recognition of your efforts by your peers. It is also a strong motivation to continue moving forward, as you become part of a community that maintains very high standards of IPC excellence. Being among such colleagues encourages you not only to keep up, but to continuously improve.
