Gail Fraine, RN, MMHC, BSN, CIC, LTC-CIP

Work/APIC: Gail Fraine is the System Director of Infection Prevention for Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, TN. For over 30 years, Gail has led efforts to prevent the spread of healthcare associated infections in a variety of settings using evidence-based guidelines, standardization of practices, and principles of high reliability and patient safety.
Gail is an APIC member, where she has served in various roles, including director on the APIC Board of Directors where she was a member and held leadership roles on many committees. Gail served on the first test development committee for the long-term care certification. She is a member of the Middle Tennessee APIC Chapter.
In 2021, Gail received the Patient Safety Leadership Award from the Tennessee Hospital Association for her work related to infection prevention. For Ascension Health, she was the Co-Chair of the Infection Prevention Committee and represented Infection Prevention in a variety of leadership positions related to healthcare associated infections, supply chain, technology, emergency preparedness and associate safety.
She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Arkansas State University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Belmont University, and a Master of Management for Health Care from Vanderbilt University. Gail is board certified in infection prevention and control (CIC) and long term care.
