1. Tell us about your experience putting together your portfolio for the AL-CIP?

In preparation for submission, I pulled together what I felt would be applicable  experiences and outcomes for the portfolio. Reviewing each  domain, I weighed the critiera and my rationales for submission and drafted  highlights to include.

2. Can you provide tips for writing a successful rationale?

Drafting some of the rationales was easier than others.   If I felt as though I was too wordy to accomplish what Iwas trying to say or that it needed additional information , I put the draft aside overnight and revisted it the next day with fresh eyes to see if it met what I was trying to convey.  For two of the domains, I rewrote the entire rationale for submission.

3. What advice would you give to someone considering the AL-CIP?

GO for it. It is a wonderful opportunity to look back at your  accomplishments and reflect on your actions and outcomes, helping to build on a future of additonal impact. No one knows you like you do.

4. What does earning your AL-CIP mean to you?

Personal pride and acknowledgement of achievement and impact; for patient and employee safety.
